Gearbox has one the most highly anticipated games coming out in about 21 days and they’re already announcing DLC for the game. It’s only just gone gold in the last few months and Gearbox is making sure you get the longevity out of your game.
Of course, not everyone sees it this way. Some fans of the game who’ve already dropped money on collectors additions are up in arms over the new-named “Season Pass” DLC – 3 campaigns for the price of 4.
Some people are citing financial reasons as to not buy the pass, which I can totally understand. But most of the objections come from people wondering why this DLC is being released in July 2013-ish and isn’t being released in September with the rest of the game.
A quick vocabulary lesson, kids. Like I said in the first paragraph, Borderlands has gone gold. This doesn’t reference its sales, since it isn’t available for retail release just yet. What going gold means in this context is that the game has been sent off to the people who put it onto the discs and print it off. It’s in the case, they’re making my loot chest and it’s getting ready to be shipped out to your retailer.
If the game is already printed, how on earth can they add it to your game? I understand if people get upset over DLC being on disc then being “released” for money but this is just stupid. People need to have a working understanding about how our favourite pastime works!
Plus, if you don’t want it, don’t buy it. Or buy it for me? <3
